A 1989 graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, Francine Ward is a business and intellectual property attorney, with a focus on copyright law, trademark law, publishing law, book law, social media law, and business law. Her clients include small business owners, business entrepreneurs, and small business entrepreneurs. Francine's practice is designed to help them protect what's theirs--their valubale content, products, and services, as well as their brand and business structure.

She is admitted to practice in both California and New York.

Francine Ward is an active member of the ABA’s Intellectual Property Law Section, and is incoming Vice Chair of the Ex Parte Trademark Office Affairs Committee.  She is also a frequent CLE speaker on legal topics (e.g., Copyright 101, Social Media Ethical issues for Lawyers, Trademark 101, Social Media Legal Issues) as well as a popular legal commentator.

Always willing to be of service, Francine volunteers her time in a number of ways and venues, such as providing probono legal services through the San Francisco Bar Association's VLSP program (volunteer lawyers), counseling women who struggle with addiction, mentoring young women, mentoring entrepreneurs. Additionally, she sits on the national boards of several nonprofits, including the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence.  While many folks claim not to have time to volunteer, Francine sees service to others as an opportunity to give back for the amazing life she's been given.  With her husband, Richard Lipfield (a family therapist), Ward has homes in Mill Valley and Palm Desert, CA.
